All things fashion week

The devil is liar... no rain can stop my shiiiiine! (using the tune of ushers good kisser) Cape Town weather can really hate on ones plans hey... but, it didn't stop me from attending this years Mercedes Benz fashion week at the Cape Town International Convention center. Most of all who attended seemed to be getting the memo fashion wise and some of course needed a little bit of schooling in the fashion department. It was also very interesting to bump into some very familiar faces like Laureezy from Hectic Nine-9 who looked dashing in her simple but elegant black attire. She couldn't stop making fun of me about how backwards I was about the whole "selfie" concept (story for another day) and I couldn't help but cringe at the over done make-up of her good friend and colleague, Ayanda but the outfit he wore gave him brownie points. I also bumped into the ever so gracious Doctor Precious Moloi-Motespe who looked dashing as always, I don't know how she does it but whatever it is, it's working! My vision got distracted a bit when I saw a young ambitious lady who wore recycled plastics to the event, My colleague kept disagreeing  with me on many fashion pointers especially on her outfit but I stood my ground, I felt she had to go home immediately because uhm... because she looked dreadful to say the least.

It was also very nice to see Marc Lottering at a place other than a shopping mall.. I actually mean it hey, It was very nice to see him at a place OTHER THAN A SHOPPING MALL. I spotted Zizo Beda at a distance with who I perceived to be her fiance? and I was so shocked to see Bonnie He....what's her surname now? Because it's certainly not Hena... ok this is getting awkward.... so er, to the point... The talented actress whose latest work can be viewed on Connie and Shona Ferguson's Rockville. I must say though, the lady has lost weight... alot actually, I didn't recognize her until my friend went to hug her and then after ten minuets I realized that's Bonnie! Well, I'll forgive her weight loss, I mean who wouldn't be grieved after a tragic tweet or should I say tweets gone wrong about her bitter divorce. And I must say as a Xhosa guy I wasn't too impressed by... Back to fashion week, I wasn't too happy bumping into unwanted familiar faces.. I actually feel like Cape Town is the second East London... just bigger and expensive. Like no joke, every corner I turned, you just check someone I didn't exactly want to see... BACK TO FASHION week, I attended Danielle Margaux / Selfi fashion show who showcased some impressive garments, I was a bit traumatized at one exposing a womans breasts. It's fashion I know BUT no dear... that was too much info, nah what I mean? then I attended the LCA fashion show, thanks guys for kindly putting me on your guest list; original garments from them I must say, I wouldnt disown any female friend who wore them...

Followed by Lalesso fashion show and then in my opinion the ultimate showstopper, Craig Port and this is mainly because the dude has a mans range and I was blown away, well done to all designers that I had the honour of viewing. Thank-you to the organizers for the free-bees they gave us media moguls although I'm not to sure what to do with the free Elle magazine they gave me.... All in all great event and cannot wait to see what next year has in store for us fashion wise!
